Our Sauna Products - Thermally Treated for an Enhanced Sauna Experience.

Our sauna wood has been sourced from Finland and is a Nordic Pine which is commonly used in saunas untreated. The difference though with our Saunas are that our wood has gone through additional processes of thermal treatment which is a popular technique used to enhance the stability and durability of wood.

The process typically involves subjecting the wood to high temperatures, usually above 180°C (356°F), in a controlled environment. This treatment modifies the wood's cellular structure, reducing its moisture content down to around 2% which makes it more resistant to decay, insect infestation, and warping.

There are many benefits for of thermally treated wood. It has increased dimensional stability, meaning it is less likely to shrink, swell, or warp when exposed to changes in temperature and humidity. This makes it an excellent choice for various applications, including decking, cladding, flooring, and outdoor furniture, where wood is exposed to the elements.

Additionally, thermally treated wood has improved resistance to decay, reducing the need for chemical preservatives. It also exhibits enhanced thermal insulation properties, making it an efficient material for sauna construction. The thermal treatment process darkens the wood, giving it a rich, beautiful appearance.

By using Nordic Pine which is normally used in Sauna and then subjecting it to thermal treatment, you are obtaining a high-quality and durable wood product that will withstand the test of time.

An unexpected advantage arising from the thermal treatment process is the heightened fragrance of the sauna wood. This enriched aroma has proven enduring in the saunas we have tested, demonstrating its longevity.
